The mAT-Y200 is an automatic antenna tuner for Yaesu transceivers. It tunes all coax fed antennas over a wide tuning range, on the whole shortwave plus the 6m band.
The power range is from 0.1 to 200 W SSB on HF (peak power, 100 W digital modes). The tuner is controlled by the control cable from the transceiver (tune button).
There are no further operating elements on the tuner itself, only 2 LED's give information about the different operating conditions. Please note the information about the
maximum transmit power in the manual.
mAT-Y200 can be used with Yaesu transceivers which have the usual tuner sockets. Depending on the model, these may be labeled "CAT/LINEAR" or "LIN/TUN",
for example. A control cable for Yaesu is included.
Any coaxial cable-fed antenna can be used, i.e. end-fed broadband antennas like the GPM-1500, BB-7V, BB-6W etc., but also dipoles or windom antennas.
For antennas with parallel wire a balun must be used for transformation. The operation is fully automatic via the tune button. Also the bypass function can be switched on
and off to bypass the tuner.
The mAT-Y200 also has a very useful "tracking" function: If the currently set transceiver frequency is changed, the change is automatically "tracked" by the tuner.
